Company history

The company Letovické strojírny was founded on April 22, 1998 by the incorporation in the Commercial Register. The company LS continues the long tradition of machine production in Letovice.

The company Synek, on the basis of which the company Letovické strojírny was gradually being built, was established as early as in 1882. Step by step it was being extended, including the grey cast iron foundry, up to the staff number of 150 employees. It specialized in the production of agricultural machines, especially corn cleaners, cutters, corn crusher repairs, etc.

After the 1948 nationalisation the company was incorporated in the sector of the Ministry of Agriculture under different names, such as Central works of national agricultural plants, Agricultural repair works. In 1959, the company was transferred to the sector of engineering industry and was a part of Agrostroj Prostějov, national company.

Since January 1, 1969 the plant became an independent company under the name of LETOSTROJ LETOVICET, national company. The company was a part of the concern of Zbrojovka Brno, later Agrozet Brno. Since 1990 there have been some attempts at elaboration of business plan and consequent privatisation.

In 1994, the company was purchased by the company ČKD Blansko, a.s. and was renamed as ČKD Letostroj, production plant Letovice. After the bankruptcy declaration on ČKD Blansko, a.s. the production premises were purchased again and a new company named LETOVICKÉ STROJÍRNY, s.r.o. was established.

In the 2008 ist going to expiere 10 years of the existence the company LETOVICKÉ STROJÍRNY, s.r.o.

During this time the customers portfolio has been extended and maschinery of the company renovated.

The important investment ventures were realised, as the building-up of a new paiting and esembly hall, purchase of the equipment of powder paintshop with KTL, CNC machine tools etc. , what classifi es LETOVICKÉ STROJÍRNY, s.r.o. between important suppliers of several world-knowen firms.
